"Lev Rachel" Helpline
Beit
Natan's national telephone help line, "Lev Rachel" is manned by
specially trained volunteers
(recovered patients themselves). More than 500 cancer patients
and/or family members use the line annually seeking help and hope.
Based on the "peer group" support model, Beit Natan's social worker supervisor pairs callers with volunteers who come from similar social, cultural and medical backgrounds, making "Lev Rachel" an effective and powerful resource for individual, personalized help.
"When
I heard the diagnosis, I didn't know where to turn. The volunteer
on the help-line validated my fears and hopes."
Miriam
